Why we can charge a flat monthly rate
A flat monthly rate is hard to offer when an AI Game Master's context keeps growing every turn: the longer a campaign runs, the more story there is to weigh, and the cost rises with it. That is why many tools meter play by action or by token. A flat rate only works if that growth stays bounded.
LoomMaster's world-graph architecture keeps the active context bounded - the model only sees the player's current location, adjacent areas, present NPCs, and active quest state. Long campaign history lives in the graph, retrieved by relevance, never re-sent in full.
On top of that, the engine does the cheap work cheaply: dice rolls and rule checks run in deterministic code at zero AI cost, and the heavyweight generation is saved for the moments that genuinely need it, like the scene shifting around you.
What $29.99 gets you: flat monthly play with fair-use protection that ordinary play never reaches, and world-graph memory that does not degrade with session length - your campaign stays remembered run to run, however long it runs.
Soft household ceiling, plain English: a generous monthly fair-use ceiling (a couple thousand turns per household) catches industrial-scale abuse - bots, runaway loops - without metering real players. Reaching it would take dozens of hours of play in a single month, so normal solo sessions never come close.
Why only 200 founders, ever
The Mirror Shard is one payment for access that costs us money every turn, for as long as LoomMaster runs. That is the honest tension: a subscription recurs because the AI cost recurs. A lifetime seat does not - so every lifetime founder is a recurring cost we carry against a single payment.
We would rather promise that to a small, known number of people and keep it for good than sell it to everyone and quietly let the program decay. Each household's play is already bounded by a fair-use ceiling, so the cost a founder can ever reach has a real cap - and 200 is the number we are confident we can carry for the long run without the Shard becoming an open-ended loss.
So 200 is a deliberate hard limit, not a marketing countdown. When the seats are claimed, the Mirror Shard is gone and LoomMaster is subscription-only, for good.
Where LoomMaster fits
There are many ways to tell a story with AI. Here is the honest map - and the one thing LoomMaster is built to do better than anything else.
A real, rules-true 5e or Pathfinder 2e campaign you can play solo, on demand, any hour - no group, no scheduling, no Game Master to wrangle. The engine rolls every die and applies the rules itself: the AI narrates the world, it never decides whether you hit. And the world and its people remember you, run to run.
Bring the AI you already use. You connect TheWorldTable to any MCP-capable client (Claude Desktop and others) as an MCP server: your AI narrates the adventure and covers its own usage, while our server runs only the parts that must be cheat-proof - it rolls every die with a seeded generator, enforces the 5e and Pathfinder 2e rules, records each result in a tamper-evident chain, and remembers your world run to run. $49.99 one-time - pay once, own it for life, no subscription, ever - you bring the AI, so there is nothing recurring for us to bill. The web tier charges every month; this you pay once and own.
FAQs · Top questions from solo TTRPG players
"Can the AI cheat the dice?"
No - and it is the whole point. Every roll comes from a seeded, server-side generator, and every rule (AC, DCs, the action economy, damage) is applied by a deterministic engine, not the language model. The AI only narrates what already happened. Each result is written to a tamper-evident, HMAC-chained ledger, so an outcome cannot be quietly rewritten after the fact - not by the AI, not by us, not by you. A Game Master that cannot fudge a roll, and cannot be fudged.
"Do I need my own AI?"
No. On the $29.99/mo web tier we run and pay for the AI - sign up and play in your browser, nothing to install, no API key. If you already pay for an AI like Claude and would rather bring it, the BYO tier connects over MCP (any MCP-capable client, smoothest on Claude) for a one-time $49.99: your AI narrates and covers its own usage, our server runs only the cheat-proof engine. Same content and rules either way.
"How does the monthly ceiling actually work?"
No daily message limits, no token rationing, no per-session timer, no "out of credits" wall mid-session. Play a six-hour Saturday session if you want; the price stays the same.
One honest line of fine print: there's a generous household monthly fair-use ceiling, measured in turns - not minutes, not messages. Most turns count as one; the richest, AI-heavy scenes count for a little more, and every turn is hard-capped so no single one can ever run away. In practice that's a couple thousand turns a month per household - far more than a long campaign needs.
In normal play this ceiling is invisible - reaching it would take dozens of hours of active play in a single month. It exists to catch industrial-scale abuse - bots, runaway loops, automated scraping - not to nickel-and-dime real players.
For context: flat monthly play at $29.99/mo is generous for solo play, and the world-graph memory does not degrade with session length - long campaigns stay remembered run to run.
Your character and campaign state are always safe, and for a normal human playing solo, you'll never see this ceiling at all.
"How does the NPC memory actually work? Existing tools claim memory and it doesn't deliver."
Most "AI memory" features are LLM context-window tricks - they stuff old chat into the prompt until the window fills, then silently drop the oldest stuff. The model forgets your session-3 deal with the goblin king by session 7. That's not memory, that's a sliding window.
LoomMaster uses a world-graph projection. Every event in your campaign (you sparing the goblin king, the merchant short-changing you, the faction you helped) gets written as a node connected to the NPC + location + quest it relates to. When that NPC appears again, the graph retrieves the relevant nodes by structural relationship - not text search, not similarity scores, actual semantic edges.
Translation: the goblin king in session 7 KNOWS you spared him. He'll act on it. That's the whole product.
"What's actually shipping for Pathfinder 2e play?"
The full PF2e play loop, server-authoritative. Character builder (L1) and level-up walker (L2-L20), Pathbuilder 2e .json import (paste-in or file upload), and Foundry VTT export so you can carry the sheet over to your group's table if you switch off LoomMaster later.
In-play surfaces: dying ladder (Dying 1-4, recovery checks, Wounded stacking), hero points (gain + spend with re-roll), conditions tracker (Frightened, Sickened, Stunned and the rest - applied, decremented, removed cleanly), animal companion action panel (Strike, Stride, Support as a separate PF2e action), XP track with level-up-ready badge at 1000, encounter generator with budget-correct mob pools, and PF2e treasure pacing across the L1-L20 arc.
Catalog depth: 309 bestiary entries, 128 magic items L1-L20, 28 archetypes, 132 feats, 175 leveled spells plus 68 cantrips and focus spells, 36 rituals, 29 hazards and afflictions. Everything cross-referenced - feat prereqs, archetype dedications, spell schools - so the builder rejects illegal picks before they hit the sheet.
"Does the AI Director actually USE all this stuff, or is it just data?"
The Director drives the panels live. It has direct tools for every PF2e
mechanic: pf2e_apply_condition, pf2e_remove_condition,
pf2e_award_pf2e_xp, pf2e_recovery_check,
pf2e_spend_hero_point. When the goblin lands a Frightened 2 on
your fighter, the model doesn't just say so - it calls the tool, the server
applies the status, and the UI updates. The narration is downstream of the
rules engine, not the other way around.
Why that matters: the LLM cannot quietly forget you're Sickened 1. It can't fudge a Recovery Check in your favor. It can't award you XP it didn't actually grant. Every state change is a verifiable server call on chain, and the AI can only ask for transitions the engine accepts. No cheats from either side of the table.
"Why Pathfinder 2e first and not D&D 5e?"
Trick question - 5e shipped first. The 5e SRD ruleset went live earlier in the build (combat, conditions, level-up walker, NPC memory all running on 5e OGL content). PF2e shipped on top of the same engine 2026-05-28 to 2026-05-29 with full parity: same Director, same world-graph memory, same server-authoritative dice and state machine. Both rulesets work today.
Pick your weapon at character creation. If you have an existing PF2e Pathbuilder sheet, import it directly. If you want to roll fresh, the L1 builder walks you through ancestry/background/class/feats with the catalog guarding the legal picks. 5e is still there, still live, same subscription covers both.
"Can I import my existing character sheet from D&D Beyond / Foundry / Roll20?"
Today: yes for D&D 5e via paste-in stat block (we parse the standard text format that D&D Beyond exports). Direct API import from D&D Beyond requires their cooperation, which they don't currently offer to third parties.
Pathfinder 2e: shipped 2026-05-28 with a native server-authoritative L1 character builder + L2-L20 level-up flow. Pathbuilder 2e .json import shipped 2026-05-29 - paste-in or file-upload either works; the server reconstructs the L1->LX walk and verifies the sheet against the catalog. Foundry VTT export shipped alongside so you can carry the sheet out.
Foundry / Roll20 native imports: planned post-launch v1.1 if there's demand. Founder-tier signups vote on the order of post-launch features.
"What if I play once a month? Is it worth the subscription?"
Subscribe, play your session, cancel - no lock-in, no cancellation fee. If you come back next month your campaign state is exactly where you left it: it is event-sourced and never expires, on free or paid alike; re-subscribe and pick up exactly where you left off, NPCs intact, quest log intact, the goblin king remembering your last conversation.
Why not a $1-2 pay-per-session option? The PayPal flat fee ($0.30 per charge) eats roughly a third of any sub-$1 transaction before the API cost even hits. We'd be losing money on every casual buyer - which means we'd quietly shorten the session, downgrade the model, or add fine print. We'd rather just not offer that tier than ship the version of it that pays our bills.
"Will the AI write actions or dialogue for my character?"
Never. This is enforced at the Director routing layer, not "asked nicely" in a prompt. The model's allowed-actions schema literally has no tool for "write the player's response" - it can describe the world, run NPCs, roll dice, but it cannot author your character's words or decisions.
If you stay silent on your turn, the AI will wait. It won't fill in for you. Player agency is the hard line.
"What systems are supported?"
D&D 5e SRD (OGL content) AND Pathfinder 2e Core (shipped 2026-05-28). Both 5e and PF2e have open licensing that makes them digital-tool friendly, and together they cover ~85% of the active solo TTRPG market.
Post-launch: planning Free League's Year Zero Engine games (Mörk Borg, Mothership) since they have generous licensing AND the rules-light style works especially well with AI narration. Cypher System, Savage Worlds, OSR retroclones are on the longer list. Vote on Founder tier.
Custom / homebrew systems: load your own rules document and the engine adapts. Works best for narrative-light systems; crunchy, math-heavy systems need some hand-tuning.
"Is my campaign data private? Are you training on it?"
Your campaigns are private to your account. No training on user data - the Trinity models are Anthropic's; we don't fine-tune anything on your sessions.
Per Anthropic's terms, your prompts are not used for model training. Anthropic retains prompts/responses for 30 days for trust & safety; after that, gone.
Export-all-my-data + delete-everything endpoints are live (GDPR / CCPA compliance is non-negotiable).
"What happens when LoomMaster shuts down? My campaign dies?"
Plan to never shut down. But honest answer for "what if":
Every campaign is exportable as a single .json file - world-graph, NPC memory, character sheets, session transcripts. You own your data. If we ever announce a shutdown, you get 90 days to export, and we open-source what we can lawfully release of the LoomMaster engine so you can self-host: the deterministic 5e engine runs your exported world on your own machine, and you bring your own AI for the narration.
Founders get first access to that self-host runtime the moment it ships - a thank-you for trusting early.
"Can a group play together with LoomMaster as the Game Master?"
Yes - co-op party play is live now for both D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e: several human players share one AI Director, like a normal table where the Loom runs the game. (One ruleset per table: a party is all-5e or all-PF2e, never mixed - the Director runs one rules engine per turn.)
How the seats work: every player needs their own LoomMaster account and an active subscription - party play is INCLUDED in the $29.99/mo web tier (and in the lifetime Mirror Shard) at no extra charge. No separate party fee, no guest pass: each player brings their own seat. (The one-time BYO-over-MCP tier is solo-only - it is not part of web party play.)
Why per-account: each player's character sheet, history, NPC memory, and roleplay decisions are individually tracked - the world-graph treats each PC as a first-class agent in the campaign. One account per player keeps that clean.
Practical: to run a table with your group, each member signs up and holds an active subscription - monthly, or a one-time Mirror Shard for lifetime access that includes party play. The Founder Mirror Shard ($249, first 200) is the best value if you know you want in for life.
"I have another question."

Lock in Founder pricing while seats remain
First 200 founders get a Mirror Shard ($249 one-time = lifetime LoomMaster), plus a Founder Seal on every roll you share. The subscription is $29.99/mo - same capabilities.
