Durable honours - the title ladder, the Collection Crown, and the Gauntlet's reward
2026-06-22: The endgame's honours got a durable redesign so nothing ever looks stale as the Court grows. A new Collection Crown tracks the fraction of the Court you have sealed - Half-Court Sworn at half, Keeper of Every Seal when every Witness is yours - and it always reads right, whatever the roster size. The prestige ladder became a fixed, evocative arc capped by Loomwright of the Whole. And the Gauntlet - a curated boss-rush of ten of the Court's harshest Witnesses and the Warden, back to back - now pays a Sigil premium plus the feat title Walker of the Gauntlet for a clean clear. Rewards are scope-relative throughout, so the economy never re-stales as new regions and Witnesses are added.
LIVE
The mega-wave - a wider world, deeper builds, shared decisions
2026-06-21: The biggest wave yet. Forty-plus new foes across two new endgame regions (the Tidewrack and Stormspire), three subclasses with real combat payoffs, and past the level cap a paragon board - the Loomwoven Ascendancy, woven with points you earn felling Witnesses. A full six-set synergy suite gives gear real identity; a Party Council lets a co-op table vote on the fork together; and the Sealed Ladder ranks every verified Loom Seal by the natural 20s the engine could never fudge. And for the worthy, the Gauntlet - a curated boss-rush of the Court's harshest Witnesses and the Warden, back to back.
LIVE
Forge your gear, fray the Court
2026-06-20: Crafting got an endgame: the Loom Forge can reforge a single affix and seal the stat you love, Transmute an item's base, and Set-forge toward a themed set - quality and affixes only, never raw power. Two whole new regions opened, the Court gained tactic-changing modifiers each with a reward to match its warning, the lairs themselves fight back, and the Loom Seal can finally be made whole - the completionist apex.
LIVE
The Sealhouse deepens - vows, a Forge, a craftable docket
2026-06-19: The endgame filled out across three phases. You now swear your own Clauses - vows with honored or broken stakes - craft your docket with the Reading Stone, spend an Ascendant Token to bend a run, and chase a quarterly Seasonal Seal with an earnable title. New immune elites joined the roster, mounted combat and environmental hazards landed by the book, and the Skill Book was rebuilt to read clearly.
LIVE
Every class plays like itself
2026-06-18: All twelve classes and their subclasses now fight like themselves - caster parity across the board, Paladin auras and Divine Smite, Battle Master maneuvers, Monk Stunning Strike, Barbarian Rage as a real resource, the full Rogue kit - on a new saving-throw resolver. The martial action economy came alive in the interface, foes started fighting smart with target priority, morale, and lair actions, and the world began remembering your deeds across epochs.
LIVE
The Sealhouse - the endgame opens
2026-06-17: Beat the campaign and the Veil pulls back to the Court beneath the world: the Witnesses bound around the Loom Seal, with the Warden of the Final Thread at the summit. Sign a Testimony - a sealed docket of Witnesses - confront them in order, and every fall is sealed into the chain forever, publicly provable. Climb the tiers as the docket Frays, and spend the prestige you earn on cosmetic Court skins and worn titles, never power.
LIVE
Your look stays - and the engine reaches v3.1.1
2026-06-13: The cosmetics you wear - auras, frames, your Founder marks - now stay put across every reload and exit, and equipping one is a quiet confirmation instead of a wall of repeated text. And the deterministic core that rolls every die reached v3.1.1 - a new, hardened release of the already-public engine, cleared by five hand-checked security rounds. The same one Rust core, byte-identical across TypeScript, Python and Rust, on npm, PyPI and crates.io for anyone to read, run, and verify.
LIVE
The dice you can see
2026-06-12: A suggested action can now BE a roll. The Loom tags an option with a real skill and your own modifier - [Persuasion], [Insight], [Stealth] - and tapping it makes the server roll that exact check, at an honest difficulty, BEFORE the scene is written, so the story follows the die and never the reverse. When a past memory shapes a scene, the Loom shows you the real record it drew on. Combat learned distance - a bowman opens across the field, a brute starts in your face, and firing point-blank reads on the roll the way 5e means it. The first true dungeon opened: the Sunken Loomworks, four rooms under the fens, each cleared only when every foe is truly down. Plus a skills hotbar (press 1 and the bolt flies), a crafting endgame with a gambler's reroll and a harvest on every kill, and a one-tap public Seal of any triumph - the dice, provably un-fudged, for anyone to verify.
LIVE
The world breathes, fights, and remembers
2026-06-11: The deepest single update LoomMaster has shipped. Real leveled spellcasting - fifteen new spells across levels 2-5, rituals, a slot economy the engine enforces, concentration that truly breaks, and area spells that catch every foe in the blast. Tactical combat reads the field: distance matters, leaving melee provokes a real opportunity attack, and a paralyzed foe genuinely cannot answer. The world now MOVES between your visits - prices drift, House feuds sharpen and cool, rumours rotate daily, and each night themes what hunts in each wild. Two companions - Kessa Reed, the weary old soldier, and Pip Brightlet, the runaway apprentice mage - can earn a place at your side, each with a personal story arc that unfolds the longer the road runs. And the Houses pay off at the extremes: inner-circle work for those Held at the Loom, and for those Cut From the Cloth, a single hard redemption door back. All of it server-authoritative, event-sourced, and honest - the dice were never the AI's to invent.
LIVE
A Journal that remembers your every thread
2026-06-07: The Living Journal opens in play - a server-authoritative record of everything the Loom has seen you do. Your standing with the six Houses, the deeds it recorded, the quests you carry, and the regions you have reached, all read straight off the same honest event chain as the dice - never a fabricated entry. It is the thread of your story, kept where nothing can quietly rewrite it.
LIVE
The Houses of Lastlight remember you
2026-06-07: Six civic Houses keep their own ledger on you - the lantern-keepers, the smiths, the archivists, the gate scouts, the kitchens, and the gardeners. Your deeds, not your words, move your standing across five tiers, and the Director narrates how each House's people meet you - warmth, wariness, or a closed door. The Houses are rivals, so winning one quietly cools its enemies: you cannot be a hero to all six at once. A new in-game Codex tells you who each House is, what wins and loses their regard, and exactly where you stand. Server-authoritative and event-sourced on the same honest chain as the dice.
LIVE
The world gets a real server spine
2026-06-06: The authoritative real-time server layer - the spine a persistent world needs to survive contact with real players - is built and hardened. A tamper-evident HMAC event chain, a durable write-ahead outbox, monotonic fencing against split-brain state, thin-client resync after a crash or a pod handoff, and observability on the parts that can't be allowed to lie. The client stays thin; the server owns reality - if something crashes, reconnects, retries, or races, the world rolls back to the last verified truth instead of inventing a new one. An AI-orchestrated multi-agent review ran adversarially against every change and caught real issues - a JWT auth-bypass path and durability gaps - before this layer ever reached a player. Not the finished world yet: the foundation that lets one exist.
BUILT
The engine goes cross-language - and public
2026-06-05: The deterministic core LoomMaster runs on - range bands, the reaction economy, the 5e and PF2e rules adapters, the HMAC-SHA-256 event chain - now runs byte-identically in TypeScript, Python, and Rust (one Rust core compiled to WebAssembly, PyO3, and a C-ABI). Published source-available: npm (loom-engine), PyPI (loom-engine-rpg), crates.io (loom_math, loom_combat, loom_events). 4,131 tests green, external security + determinism audit passed. This is the proof behind "the engine owns the dice, the AI only narrates" - same seed, same result, in every language, on every machine.

    The Pitch

Started as an order-manager app for Sunisa's restaurant. Grew into an AI Game Master where the AI is not bolted on - it IS the world. Built non-stop by one human, solo. No other developers. Every minute is shipped code.

    Why this exists

Sunisa, Panisa, and Baibua - the three of them made me feel unstoppable. The world is named after our table because that is where it began. Every line of this project was written for them, and because of them.

    Where it began

It started as a simple order-manager app for Sunisa's restaurant. The same engine grew into a multiplayer game world - Lastlight, the Loom, the Director - because once the system worked, it kept asking to grow.

    How it's built

Misha and Claude. That is the whole team. No outside developers, no contractors, no vibe-only prototypes. Real engine, real ledger, real multiplayer. Human and AI cooperation, shipping every minute, every second.

The $249 Mirror Shard, recognition backing, and where your money actually goes.

Honest and simple. A one-time $249 Mirror Shard (first 200 only) = lifetime LoomMaster, unlimited play up to the Veil Ceiling, and your name enshrined as a founding backer. Or speak any amount - pure recognition: the Director names you, and your name lives on the Wall forever. No reward tiers, no feature paywalls, no early access. Pledges fund two things and nothing else: hand-crafted art from real artists, and the ongoing work that keeps LoomMaster running and getting better. You back the work; the Loom remembers your name.

    Where it goes ›
    22 May 2026 Engine milestone

EventChain - a tamper-evident log nothing can quietly rewrite.

EventChain is the integrity-bearing sibling of the event log: every appended record is HMAC-SHA-256 signed and folds in the previous record's signature, so the whole log is a hash chain. It catches the four tamper classes a plain log cannot - field tampering, record deletion, reordering, and (with a sealed length+head commitment) tail truncation. Ported straight from the server-authoritative event tape that guards LoomMaster's combat + currency ledger in production.

Hardened across five independent security-audit rounds: length-prefixed + domain-tagged canonical encoding (injective - no field-boundary forgery), fail-closed strict canonicalization (rejects -0, lone surrogates, JSON-erased object/array metadata, and an own __proto__ key), deep-clone isolation at every trust boundary, and a recursion-depth DoS guard for untrusted snapshots. The final two rounds came back clean - no CRITICAL/HIGH/MED.

Over 4,000 tests green, source-available on npm. It builds on the same engine that runs the bestiary and the rest of the live stack.

    8 May 2026 Engine milestone

The Loom Engine's source is public.

The engine that powers Lastlight Plaza now lives on GitHub. Browser-first TypeScript - Canvas2D, ECS, render-graph stages, Director-bridge SSE integration. Four releases shipped today: 597 tests, all green.

0.17.0 made the ECS deterministic - every random draw routes through a seeded PRNG so trace replays produce identical output. 0.18.0 pinned the replay snapshot fixtures and polished the determinism story. 0.19.0 shipped a client-side plugin SDK that mirrors the Python server runtime - Founders can write plugins reacting to zone events without forking the engine. 0.19.1 hot-fixed two bugs caught the same day they shipped.

The source is public - anyone can read it, audit it, and build on it. The Loom is real. The Engine is real. Read the code.

      Origin

September 2025. I landed in Thailand for the first time. Two months later I met Sunisa. A few months after that Koh Lanta had become home. The first thing I ever built that mattered to anyone but me was an order-manager app for her restaurant - a way to make her day easier. The thread starts there.

4 April 2026, 18:02 Bangkok time. One HTML file, 47 KB, called "The World Table - Family Hub". A task tracker for Sunisa's restaurant. That is the first thread the Loom remembers.

That same night, by 21:09, four more versions had shipped. Task management, revenue, money, a Memory Card Game, a Game Hub. The hub had started bolting things onto itself.

Overnight to 5 April, version 6 grew to 1.15 MB. Its title bar read "Pixel Exclusive · Claude AI + Cowork". Claude stopped being a tool and became a co-builder.

The next two weeks were a flood. Authentication. Real-time market tickers. A class system. Monster Arena. Multiplayer. PWA. 22 new modules in a single version-112 release. Thai translation. Cloudflare Pages migration. A real GPS map of Koh Lanta with fog of war. ARPG combat with the Anvilsworn class.

By 22 April, the engine had a name - the Loom - and weeks 7 through 18 of structured engine work began: Director telemetry, social-weight economy, Houses of Lastlight, Auctions, Mailbox, House Quests. The Silver Mirror cosmetics shop opened on the 23rd.

On 27 April the first public build shipped, the same day Misha and Sunisa were married in Ao Luek, Krabi. On 28 April the page you are reading was pivoted from a wedding-fund surface into the permanent Founders' page. On 2 May the Loom Director went live: every Founder named uniquely, every conversation logged, every Veil Essence drop accounted for.

That is 28 days. One human and one AI. More than 200 versions. Every line of code, every schema migration, every system shipped together. No outside developers. No contractors. No agencies.

The wedding is over. The work is not. If you want to stand in this with us, speak your amount above. The Loom will name you in return.
